"He who dares not grasp the thorn, should never crave the rose."
The Orgostei are a tribe of Xaela much like the rest, though with a culture all their own. A culture that values power, dedication, and above all else desire, for within their culture exists a hierarchy placing those who shed the most blood, the most self, and the most life at the top. The more beautiful a woman born to the Orgostei, the more men would fight, kill, shed blood and paint her tale red with those who wanted her less than their desire made violence- With the coin flipped, men and women alike prove their devotion with open veins running freely to show just how strong their desire is, what sacrifice they offer to claim what they call theirs. In peace, the black scaled Au Ra take the trial of many knives, seeing how many cuts and scars they can adorn before weariness takes them, or the pain becomes too great and they concede their prize away.
Though the Orgostei are not a tribe bred for peace. For every man of the Orgostei is trained from the time they can stand to stand tall, and fight proudly. The word comes loosely translated and rough to Eorzean tongue meaning 'Thorn' as that is what the men of this tribe are meant to be, a thorn to protect the red roses' beauty, and to paint the white rose red with those who seek to take them. The women may fight, but it is the men who carve their place in the world through violence and leave pages of books, facets in tales of the Xaela people's ways with their action.
No great numbers and no place in the councils of other tribes, the Orgostei are often overlooked when banner's fly, yet the women who rise through violence, and their thorns that would serve them in shed blood- be it their own, a thorn so dedicated, or those that sought to prove themselves worthy and failed breed rarely, and men are so rare that the clusters of Orgostei who still claim the clan are spread few and far between among the Steppe. Many still would keep their name, and seek their own rose, or cultivate a garden of followers and people through pillage and prowess, demanding their worth from the universe in the pain they scatter like petals to the wind. The strongest taking root, beginning their own tribe of Orgostei and thriving, despite trouble and war, or perhaps in the face of such travesties to living men do they grow a name.
Though it is not regular, nor easy to gather, a bouquet of thorns and roses gather by the will of the sun and moon to discuss which tribes aggrieve or which clans demand pillaging through need or revenge. At the head sits a Xaela crowned with thorns and forever painted with the dried red of his conquest, decreeing only to those that listen and keep the Orgostei way what it means to BE of the Orgostei, and to offer blood to blood and bind every clan in the tribe together- For the Rose and the Thorn, gladness and it's sorrow are forever linked together at the stem.
